Com2uS is launching a new initiative this November called the ‘Com:On’, a game development contest designed to discover and support emerging game developers.
Partnering with the Game Culture Foundation, the contest aims to provide a platform where aspiring developers can showcase their original games and enhance their skills.
For this time, the competition is open to Korean residents aged 14 and above who have a passion for creating games. Developers will have the chance to compete for a prize pool of around $30,000, with the top winner walking away with $15,000.
Beyond the monetary prizes, winners will also gain access to valuable resources for game creation, including support from Com2uS’ blockchain-based Hive platform.
Submissions will open in November 2024, while further details and guidelines will be made available on the contest’s official website, launching in October.
This contest marks a new chapter for Com2uS, which previously focused on nurturing story creators through its ‘Global Content Literature Award’ from 2018 to 2023. Now, with the ‘Com:On’ contest, the company aims to foster fresh talent in the gaming industry, helping to drive innovation and growth in Korea’s game development landscape.
